VELANKANNI

Velankanni is one of the most visited pilgrims in India. Velankanni is situated alon the shore of bay of Bengal. The famous shrine BASILICA OF OUR LADY OF HEALTH draws all kinds of religious Pilgrims from all parts of the world. NAGOOR

A very famous muslim pilgrim centre southindia, nagapattinam district called dargha of hazrat SYED SHAHUL HAMEED QADIRI QADIR WALI. Nagoor Darga is famous for its KANDHURI FESTIVAL. People visit the place from all parts irrespective of caste creed and religion.the dharga is almost 500 hundred years old preaching Fatherhood of god and brotherhood of man.

THIRUKKADAIYUR

Thirukkadaiyur, a renowned temple town in the Nagapattinam district on the east coast of Tamil Nadu. The ruins of the 11th century original temple known as Thirumeignanam (erstwhile Thirukkadaiyur Mayanam) can be seen at the coast. The present temple with same architectural plan of the original temple was built at a later period and the temple is thronged by the devotees praying for long lifespan. The prime deity worshipped in this holy place is Lord Shiva. The Amritaghateswarar and Abirami Temple in this hamlet of Thirukkadaiyur are associated with the mythical stories of Markandeya and Abirami Battar. This holy place is believed to be the place where Lord Shiva rescued and saved the Markendeya, the son of an ardent devotee of Lord Shiva, from the Yama (the God of death). Local devotees believe that Markandeya worshipped Amritaghateswarar, a form of Lord Shiva, in Thirukkadaiyur.
